This lavoir is situated at the end of the Rue de la Lavoir in the middle of the village. It is an impluvium style lavoir and is the first we have seen with multiple washing pools. It is also only the second one we have found where the washerwomen had to stand to wash the clothes.
Unfortunately it is locked to the general public so we could only get pictures through cracks in the door. A sign on the wall outside asks that the water and the surrounding area is kept clean.
Varennes is in department 02 - Aisne and we visited this lavoir on 1st October 2019.
